    Associated Brewing Co. was formed from the merger of Pfeiffer Brewing Co. & E&B Brewing Co. Each of these had earlier purchased other regional breweries and the result was a company that brewed & sold products under various regional brand and brewery names. There were other locations besides the Detroit headquarters including:
     - Evansville, IN - Sterling Brewers, Inc.
     - South Bend, IN - Drewrys, Ltd.
     - Willimansett, MA - Piel Bros., Inc. (previously Hampden/Harvard Brewing Co.)
     - St. Paul, MN - Pfeiffer Brewing Co. d/b/a Jacob Schmidt Brewing Co.
     - Brooklyn, NY - Piel Bros., Inc.
These other locations tended to brew under regional brand names that had more name recognition in that area rather than trying to bring new brands in.

    Some of the breweries represented out of the Detroit location included:
     - Bavarian Brewing Co.
     - Drewrys Ltd., Detroit
     - E & B Brewing Co.
     - Frankenmuth Brewing Co.
     - North Star Brewing Co.
     - Old Dutch Brewing Co.
