"Feature" Matchcover
Feature Matches
"Feature" matches
Feature matches were a gimmick from the Lion Match Co. of New York.  The "feature" refers to the fact that the matches were either a special shape (such as a beer bottle or a bowling pin),  were printed with an image or both.  They also produced the so-called "Giant-Feature" matchbooks which were approximately 3 inches in WIDTH.   They made for a great attention getting advertisement.
