This may have been an on-again
off-again family business relationship. The 1877 Michigan State
Gazetteer lists only James Eason with no mention anywhere of his father
Thomas. However, the 1879 Gazetteer once again lists T. Eason & Son. I
don't currently have access to the 1875 or 1881 Gazetteers to find out any
