* The 1877 Michigan State Gazetteer has some additional info on the Clemens Boys. It lists a Saloon at 36 Jay St. operated by Joseph Clemens. It also list a Saloon owned by Joseph Clemens at 456 Gratiot Ave. I assume that these are the same Joseph Clemens that they are referring to.
